Our most recent visit from Acorns & Oaks

We recently enjoyed a visit from Acorns & Oaks - a pop-up playgroup run by volunteers, who host weekly playgroups in various care homes.
We work hard to make Ty Llandaff a wonderful place for our residents and we are always looking for activities and events that improve their overall happiness and well-being.
Regular visits from Acorns & Oaks have proved extremely popular with our residents. The play sessions involved toddlers and pre-schoolers playing with toys and books and interacting with our residents.
Janice Evans, our Home Manager explained: "Our residents absolutely love interacting with the children, and chatting to the parents.
All the research points to the fact that spending time with young children can bring a new lease of life to older people, and this is our experience too. It's so heart-warming to see the children and residents singing along to songs.
The importance of the group is that it helps to bridge the gap between the young and elderly within the local community".
