Staff profile: Beverley Morgan, Team Leader

Last updated: 6.22pm, Tuesday 13th October 2020 by

Beverley has been part of the care team at Tŷ Llandaff for 18 months and says she absolutely adores her job as Team Leader.

Born in Wales, Beverley moved to America when she was nine years old and lived there for 18 years before deciding to move back to Cardiff four years ago. Being from a military family and moving around a lot, Beverley has seen over half of the United States of America.

Beverley went to college in the US and worked towards a degree to become an X ray Technician, something she hopes to complete in the future.

Having worked in the healthcare industry for over four years, Beverley is passionate about caring for people and helping them to get the most from every day. Beverley considers getting the role at the home and passing her competency assessment to administer medication as her biggest achievement to date.

Beverley explained: “No two days are the same at Tŷ Llandaff, that’s what makes it exciting. I usually work on our “Forget Me Not” unit (Dementia Residential) and this consists of giving medication, helping with personal care and arranging fun activities for the residents.

“I love being with people and working alongside my amazing co-workers to provide the care our residents deserve. I also enjoy being able to sit with residents and chat, knowing that when I go home, I’ve made a difference to their day and done my job well – it’s very rewarding.

“Ty Llandaff is full of laughter and smiles. We provide a high standard of care and everyone here is so committed to what they do. The staff and the management team are thoughtful, helpful and considerate people who work incredibly hard to keep up the standards of the home.”

For those potential residents who may be considering making Tŷ Llandaff their new home, Beverley had this to say: “I would say go for it! You will not regret your decision. The residents are wonderful and very sociable, and the Activities Co-ordinator does a great job of providing fun things to do.

“The staff are friendly and professional but also very down to earth – they’re certainly not shy and enjoy getting up for a good old sing-a-long and a dance.”
