We want our residents to appreciate the better things in life, which include exceptional dining at our home. Tŷ Llandaff Care Home’s dining room reflects an elegant design and provides exquisite cuisine prepared by our in-house chef.

Relatives and loved ones may be assured that everyone who dines with us is guaranteed a wonderful time, eating delicious food in a beautiful setting, thanks to the careful consideration of creating a tranquil ambience. We take great pride in offering a dining experience that is as personal as it is delicious.

A Sophisticated Setting

The eating experiences that our residents have every day are a significant part of their lives. Every day, our experienced and dedicated chef and kitchen staff provide nutritious, flavourful meals. Our chef, who has previous Michelin Star experience, is proud to produce an ever-changing menu using fine quality products; we also ask our residents to share their favourite recipes and our chef incorporates traditional Welsh recipes including Welsh Lamp Soup (Cawl), Welsh Cakes (Picau ar y Maen) and Laverbread (Bara Lawr) to name a few. Our residents can dine alfresco on our patio during the warmer months. We’re also delighted to offer Afternoon Tea at our Reception Bar, which is a great spot to meet up with loved ones and talk over a plethora of sandwiches, tea, and scones.

Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and this is no different with our dining experience. We hold regular meetings to hear our residents’ feedback and ensure that our dining options reflect their tastes and preferences. Many of our regular dishes and desserts come directly from resident requests, and we continue to draw inspiration from their favourite recipes and traditional Welsh cooking.

Private Dining Room

Friends and family are welcome for dinner at any time at an additional cost, and we have a private dining room, also known as the “Celebration Room” available for hosting a special occasion, celebration or simply to use for a more quiet and intimate setting. This room at our luxury care home in Cardiff can be pre-booked ahead of time. Whether residents prefer to eat in one of the public dining areas or in their own rooms, we promise that each and every one of our residents will have a mealtime setting that is just right for them.

Dining That’s Shaped By Our Residents

Residents have access to a full snack menu and hydration stations throughout the day, with options including a snack trolley and graze boxes. Our cheese and wine evenings are a regular highlight among residents and visitors, offering a relaxed and sociable way to unwind.

Residents also have full flexibility on where they want to enjoy their meals at Tŷ Llandaff. They can choose to eat in the dining room, the lounge, al fresco when the weather permits or in the comfort of their own room. Our dining spaces always remain open after meals and often become a social hub for our residents.

For those living with dementia or other additional needs, we offer protected mealtimes and quiet spaces to eat without distraction. Meals can be fortified for those who need extra nutritional support, and our team will happily bring the tea trolley to those who prefer not to move around. Every effort is made to ensure that everyone can enjoy food in a way that suits them.

All of our residents have equal access to all of Tŷ Llandaff’s facilities and services which is why we provide them on an all-inclusive basis. All food and drink are included in your care home fees, so you won’t have to worry about paying every time you eat or drink.

We have a fantastic chef and kitchen staff who work tirelessly to prepare the most delicious and nutritious meals possible. Our culinary team receives continual training to ensure that our residents receive the best service during every meal time. They also pay special attention to their food preferences in order to make meals acceptable for all.

Yes. Residents have the option of eating in a variety of locations within the home, including dining rooms, their rooms, Cafe Bar, and, if the weather permits, outside on our patio. Whether residents prefer to eat alone or enjoy a more social setting, their choice is truly theirs.

We serve drinks and snacks throughout the day in addition to the three main meals of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also our great chef and team will happily produce special celebratory dishes if you let them know ahead of time.

Yes. Residents can choose from a diverse menu and have complete discretion over what they eat. Residents can order from the menus presented or ask about what else is available. Any unique dietary needs or meal alterations that residents may have are always accommodated by our chef and the team.
