Christmas at Tŷ Llandaff
Tŷ Llandaff celebrated the Christmas season in style by organising a variety of festive activities and events for our residents.
We wanted to make this Christmas as special as we could and we had so much fun decorating the home. The kindness from the community and the love shared with the Ty Llandaff families was nothing short of warm and special.
We were warmed by the generosity of Pugh’s Garden Centre and a donation towards our Christmas Tree, Which was then beautifully decorated by Taniesha our activity coordinator and her amazing mum.
Throughout December, residents took part in lots of fun-filled activities, from cookie decorating to participating in group arts and crafts sessions. Residents even received a visit from the home's very own Santa Claus who came bearing gifts.
The staff at Ty Llandaff came up with the wonderful idea of converting one of the Christmas trees into a memory tree which was very fitting for the season of giving. Staff, residents, and loved ones reflected and shared their love, thoughts and memories on our memory tree in out Cwtch, a time to remember, laugh, cry and reminisce times gone by.
And we had the bringing together of families in our Celebration private dining room, the review we received from one of our families speaks volumes on how important having this facility is to our loved ones at TY Llandaff.
There was plenty of entertainment organised by the activities team for residents to enjoy in the comfort of our communal living area. We had a night of Rock and Roll with the King himself. The fantastic Elvis impersonator performed an array of Elvis classics and our residents couldn't help but sing along, some even got up and danced with Elvis; it was so lovely to see everyone's faces light up. We had the best of nights and enjoyed sharing this with our loved ones.
Severn Road Primary also visited Tŷ Llandaff from Canton, Cardiff who were excited to perform for residents and sang a variety of Christmas carols in their Christmas attire. We were astounded by their angelic voices.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Christmas period an unforgettable one. We look forward to doing it all over again next year.
